The ribbon cutting of the 19th edition of the Jesolo Sand Nativity took place this afternoon in Piazza Trieste. The sculptures are dedicated this year to the miracles of Jesus and will be open to visitors until February 6, 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \t

Today, Monday 13 December, the Patriarch of Venice<\/strong>, Monsignor Francesco Moraglia<\/strong>, blessed the traditional Nativity scene, whose theme is \"The sand of miracles\"<\/strong>, during the inauguration ceremony. The itinerary, made up of 12 sculptures<\/strong> made by 14 artists from all over the world<\/strong>, recounts as many miracles of Jesus. The exhibition is completed by a sculpture created to thank all the staff engaged on the front line in the difficult months of the pandemic: health personnel, volunteers, law enforcement, military but also employees of \"basic necessities\", such as supermarkets.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \t

To enrich the 2021 edition, the large wooden angel<\/strong> by the sculptor Marco Martalar, made using wooden material from the woods destroyed by storm Vaia. The mayor of the City of Jesolo<\/strong>, Valerio Zoggia<\/strong>, took part in the ribbon cutting, accompanied by councilor Flavia Past\u00f2<\/strong>, who recalled the projects supported thanks to the donations collected by Jesolo Sand Nativity, the other members of the municipal council and the regional councilor Francesco Calzavara<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \t

The 14 artists summoned this year worked the Jesolo sand from 2 to 17 November, modeling approximately 1,000 cubic meters of sand.
\nThe exhibition can be visited until February 6, 2022<\/strong> at the following times: from Monday to Saturday 9.30 \/ 12.30-14.30 \/ 19.30, Sunday and holidays open all day 9.30 \/ 19.30. From 25 December to 9 January open all day from 9.30 to 19.30.
\nAdmission to the exhibition is free but only allowed to holders of green pass<\/strong> (children under the age of 12 are exempt).
\nInside the exhibition area, you will need to wear a mask and maintain social distancing, the latter rule to be adopted also outside when you are in the queue. The structure was equipped with 2 fan coils<\/strong> which guarantee total air exchange 6 times every hour.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \t

\"I must say that cutting the ribbon of our famous sand nativity scene is always a pleasure, an honor and an emotion. This year, however, it is even more so <\/em> - declared the mayor of Jesolo<\/strong>, Valerio Zoggia<\/strong> -. It is difficult to think of a Christmas in Jesolo without our Sand Nativity. Yet last year we had to give up, and we missed him. 2020 has flown away, between fear and suffering. It has been a year that has touched everyone and that will forever leave traces in the memory of each of us. But today we are here to inaugurate the Jesolo Sand Nativity again. It is a sign that, although we cannot think that everything is over, we have left something behind and we must look forward. The Jesolo Sand Nativity is back bigger and more beautiful, as it should be for such an appreciated event. The 19th edition is dedicated to the Miracles of Jesus, to which is added a particular dedication to the health personnel who in the past months, and now again, have fought on the front line against the virus. I have visited it in recent days, like so many people already, and it is wonderful. Each sculpture tells the story of a miracle and conveys a message of hope and liberation.
